“We are now in the procurement stage. In parallel, we are continuing to secure LGU (loal government unit) endorsement and environmental  permits. Right-of-way acquisition, we have started negotiations so we can implement the project,” Ereno said.

Energy Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella said the agency was monitoring the construction of MVIP.

“We are monitoring NGCP because they gave their own deadline that by December 2020 they will be able to complete it. We want a reliable system and once we have this interconnection, we will have a sense of security,” he said.

NGCP earlier said it was committed to push the project and realize the interconnected transmission network within the deadline.
