Tuguegarao City, Cagayan—Narciso A. Edillo, Department of Agriculture Regional executive director, recently led the groundbreaking of the Technology Commercialization Center at San Gabriel district here.
The building, which costs around P12 million, will introduce research and development breakthroughs. It was funded by the Bureau of Agricultural Research and DA-RFO 02.
Construction shall commence immediately and is expected to be fully operational by 2020.
The center will showcase publications of proven technologies generated through research and development and display agri-based processed products developed by DA-RFO 02 through its research centers and experiment stations, Edillo said.
He said the agency will continuously promote matured technologies in Cagayan Valley through this Technology Commercialization Center.
“The department is continuously advancing in R&D activities, which cause information, technologies, and products for the benefit of their intended users,” Edillo stressed.
Through this center, the director said the DA will provide one-on-one assistance to emerging technology users, and to bring together advocates of economic development and experts in technology and commercialization “to work with our clients and help them achieve commercialization success,” he added.
