State-run Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. awarded the service contract for the one-year operation and maintenance of the 650-megawatt Malaya Thermal Power Plant to Soosan ENS Co. Ltd. of South Korea
PSALM said the operation and maintenance contract would cover one year, or until the plant was privatized.
PSALM declared Soosan ENS as the lowest compliant bidder with its P205,734,144 offer, following the post-qualification. PSALM approved a budget of P213 million for the Malaya contract.
PSALM issued the notice of award to Soosan ENS after it passed all eligibility and technical assessment. The signing of the contract and the issuance of notice to proceed was held Monday.
Soosan was the lone bidder for the Malaya O&M bidding in October last year. The Malaya plant consists of a 300-MW unit with a once-through type boiler and a 350-MW unit fitted with a conventional boiler.
