This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

Lucho is a rescued dog that amazes her rescuer to this day.

“It was in October, 2017  when I saw a plea for rescue for a dog tied and left on the side of the street. I went and found him secured by a good samaritan leaving nearby. A month after, the almost blind and mangy dog is unrecognizable. Meet Lucho, my rescued shih tzu, now a bully and loving his new life,” Tet Santos says.

Cheddar and Cheska were “newborn kittens found with their navels dangling in February 2019 along Quirino Avenue in Manila during my lunch break, “ says owner Janelle Manalang.

“I talked to the store owner nearby if I can  keep them. They may be puspins (pusang Pinoy) or cats with no breed to others but I will continue to shower them with much love and care just like my other rescues. Today, they are 10 months old, healthy and very beautiful!” Janelle says.

Editor's note: These stories were compiled by admin Miks Lim of  Save Animals of Love and Light (Save ALL), a SEC-registered animal welfare group that helps animals in need, and encourages and promotes responsible pet ownership, adoption of rescued dogs and cats from fosters, shelters and pounds, and spaying and neutering of pets to control animal population in the country, among others.
