The national youth under-18 women’s team is on an international tour in India, with athletes selected to be part of their nationwide grassroots development program.

Their stint comes after they finished with a silver medal in Brunei the other week, winning five out of six games.

“The U18s players featured in India this weekend will have their eyes set on making the next step up to the women’s team after this tournament,” said Philippine Rugby Football Union general manager Jake Letts.

Letts said it is their goal to expose the girls to the international standards of play for their development and prepare them for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
