Coca-Cola, through its flagship music marketing platform, Coke Studio, supports Original Pinoy Music (OPM) by bringing together some of the best Filipino musicians to collaborate and produce home-grown songs.
“We brought Coke Studio to the Philippines with the goal of putting Original Pinoy Music back in the spotlight where it belongs. The overwhelming response during the first season of Coke Studio PH really inspired us to work harder this second season and explore ways to take it further,” said Stephan Czypionka, Coca-Cola Philippines vice president for Marketing.
On its second year, Coke Studio partners with the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) to reignite the nation’s’ interest towards OPM. With the Coke Studio and KBP partnership, all Coke Studio songs will become part of all radio stations’ OPM playlists – following the KBP mandate of playing four OPM songs per hour in support of local artists and the rich Filipino music culture.
The KBP Board was represented by KBP Chairman and Manila Broadcasting Company President Mr. Ruperto Nicdao Jr., KBP Vice-Chairman and Radio Mindanao Network Consultant Mr. Butch S. Canoy, and KBP President and Bombo Radyo Philippines Vice President and Chief Operating Officer – AM Division Mr. Herman Z. Basbaño.
Together, Coke Studio Season 2 and KBP will be bringing into the airwaves some of the freshest Original Pinoy Music made by some of the biggest Filipino musicians such as Moira dela Torre, Shantidope, IV of Spades, Ben&Ben, and KZ Tandingan, among others!
