The Bureau of Immigration clarified that the 84-year-old Australian professor and rallyist Gill Hale Boehringer is not detained by the bureau and was staying at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport under the watch of an airline company awaiting for her next flight.
Boehringer, who was barred from entering the country remains at the exclusion room of the Naia terminal 1.
BI Spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval the foreigner was turned over to the airline company where he originally boarded after being excluded.
However, doctors advised the airline company not to let Boehringer leave because of health reason and not fit to travel yet
“We wish to dispel the notion that Mr. Boehringer is detained by BI,” Sandoval said.
