There has always been an imaginary scale that measures the strength and capability of women since time immemorial. And this scale upon which the fairer gender is weighed has hindered many of them to reach their full potential.
Fortunately, unlike previous times, this generation has easier access to platforms that can be used to help women voice out their opinions, harness their skills, and unleash their full potential.
Online shopping platform Shopee Philippines recently hosted an event that paid tribute to the achievements of women.
In partnership with Maybelline and Palmolive, Shopee presented “Beauty Fair,” a celebration of empowered and successful women from different walks of life, because as Shopee Philippines director Jane Lim put it, “Women should be celebrated the way they are.”
Shopee’s Beauty Fair brought together blogger-influencers Martha Jante, Kristine Roces, and Helen Payawal, actress KC Concepcion, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young to shed light on the daily struggles, misconceptions, and triumphs of Filipinas.
The speakers, via a three-part talk show, shared their experiences about various topics such as body standards, imperfections, and mental health. They also shared tips which intended to inspire women to get out of their comfort zones and feel empowered on being their true selves regardless of judgment.
