Buffet restaurant launches GCash Scan to Pay

The country’s largest luxury buffet, Vikings Group, makes it easier for diners to pay for their meals as it now allows GCash QR-based mobile payment technology in all its branches nationwide.

“We are happy to welcome the Vikings Group as our latest partner for mobile payments,” said Anthony Thomas, president and chief executive of Mynt, the operator of GCash.

He continued, “We are thrilled to increase their customers’ convenience in paying by making GCash Scan to Pay available in all Vikings Group restaurants and outlets. We will also be coming up with exciting promos for our loyal GCash customers who will dine at any Vikings restaurant.”

To use the GCash Scan to Pay, a customer with an iPhone or an Android smartphone only needs to download or update to the latest version of the GCash App, register an account, and fund their GCash wallet at any of the over 15,000 GCash partner outlets nationwide—which now includes all the restaurants under the Vikings Group. The customer then just have to tap on Scan QR, point their phone’s camera at the partner’s QR code, and pay.
