The Bureau of Immigration ordered the deportation of a British wanted by authorities in the United Kingdom for large-scale Internet fraud and money laundering.

The Briton, identified as Jason Ainsworth, was ordered expelled after his arrest in Josefa Country Homes in Banawa, Cebu City.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said Ainsworth was arrested on the strength of a mission order which was issued at the request of UK’s National Crime Agency which sought the BI’s help in locating and deporting the fugitive.

Morente said that Ainsworth and his brother, Jared William, who is still at large, fled to the Philippines in September 2015 right after they were released on bail.

“It was reported that they continued to profit from their online racket while in the Philippines as their victims’ money were laundered to them via money transfers by their cohorts in the UK,” the BI chief said.
