THE Philippine Cobras national touch football developmental team will join a test series this weekend in Hong Kong.

Games will be played against Hong Kong and China at the King’s Park in Kowloon on May 4 and 5.

Matches in the men’s, women’s and mixed divisions will be held among the two nations.

Newly elected Touch Football Federation Pilipinas president Bianca Arco said the team is a good mix of young and old players.

“We have a good mix of players who are in their 20s and in their 40s. And they’re competitive,” said Arco during a jersey presentation on Monday evening at Gerry’s Grill in Glorietta 5.

Arco, who took over from Claire Barberis, said that for several players, this will be their first international competition that could get them ready for the 2019 Touch World Cup.

Making up the men’s team are Tim Schenken, Rosendo Manucduc Jr., Luke Cecil, Kevin Monaghan, Allan Shine, Mark Cecil, Julius Casidlac, Nico Francisco, Ciaran Lawless, Andrei Blanco and Godfrey Redloblado.

The women’s squad is composed of Pia Galon, Megan Evans, Abigail Abrera, Shine Santos, Ansherina Awatin, Camille Cuadra, Martha Tan, Pauline Fernandez, Kayla Dionisio, Arlene Trinkler, Rachel de Guzman, Angelika Ami and Deanne Olave.

With a year left before the 2019 Touch World Cup, Arco said the tournament will allow them to evaluate the progress of players throughout their training period.
