The joint venture of MRAIL Inc. and Multi-Scan Corp. secured a P350-million contract to replace 80 air-conditioning units of the 10 running trains of Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2.
MRAIL and Multi-Scan will replace the existing roof-mounted air conditioners on 10 train sets of the LRT Line 2 System. The existing air conditioning units have been in use for over 15 years now.
“MRAIL being a rail maintenance and technology company has achieved a Quality Certification from the International Organization for Standardization. We bring our expertise and capability in executing the Systematic ACU replacement for the LRT-2 Rolling Stock,” MRAIL president and chief executive Ferdinand G. Inacay said.
Using latest technology and original equipment manufactured parts, the new ACUs will seamlessly interface with the train monitoring system.
A total of 80 ACUs will be delivered and installed throughout the 12-month project period.
