NorthPort, the country’s largest domestic cargo terminal, said it is on track to complete its three-year structural upgrade program by 2027, the company said on Monday.
The current scope of works remains on schedule for completion by the end of June 2026. Overall project timelines align with the approved three-year program to reinforce terminal infrastructure and ensure the facility’s continued operational readiness.
NorthPort continues to make steady progress on the initiative, completing several key testing and installation milestones over the past month.
Works on the initial 40-meter segment at Pier 16, located within the 100-meter work area, have been underway since April 2026.
Recent Pile Dynamic Analysis testing conducted on the test piles successfully achieved the required design load. The company said this confirms full compliance with engineering and safety standards.
Rehabilitation efforts at Terminal 1 continue with underdeck repairs, wharf structure rehabilitation and asset tagging to support long-term asset management.
The company said it is implementing these activities alongside testing and piling operations, which allows construction momentum to be maintained without compromising safety or quality.
