The Manila International Airport Authority has stepped into the case of a septuagenarian Filipino-American who went missing following her arrival at the airport from the United States early Monday morning.

Footages taken by closed-circuit television cameras installed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport – Terminal 1 are now being reviewed to determine where the 73-year-old Orvilla Ordinario Runas went before she went missing.

Runas, who arrived from San Francisco, California, is reportedly suffering with dementia and underwent a number of medical operations.

Initial investigation showed that Runas was last seen walking out from the terminal Monday afternoon.

Runas’ brother Ador Ordinario, who came along with his family from La Union to fetch and bring her home, said the woman lives alone in the United States after her husband died.

Ordinario told investigators that they were able to contact the Filipino-American friends of her sister in San Francisco to secure and arrange her trip back to the Philippines.

He added that a fellow Filipino-American couple who were scheduled to fly to Manila were asked to accompany Runas on her flight.

But after they arrived at Terminal 1 around 5 a.m., the couple, whom the Airport Police Department did not identify, and Runas got separated at the Bureau of Immigration area, and later disappeared.

Ordinario appealed to whoever would find her sister to immediately report her whereabouts to the police authorities.
