FLIGHT and Team Rise pulled off contrasting wins to make a good impression in their respective divisions of the LGR Hoops Season 5 at the Cloverleaf Gym.
Mark Chan finished with 24 points on top of six rebounds and a block to typify Flight’s dominance over Kingsmen, 80-67, in the Neophyte C division.
But Chan’s effort was overshadowed by Justine delos Reyes, who had a monster game, coming away with a double-double performance in powering Team Rise to a 74-59 triumph over the Tigers.
Delos Reyes knocked in 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in an MVP-type performance in the Novice A category of this event supported by Titan, Zarks Burger, NBA Store, BTV, Gatorade, Petron Blaze 100, Rain or Shine, Gold’s Gym, Bugsy’s and Kartilya.
Over at the North Greenhills Gym, Team Buckets outplayed Ayers Gym, 96-73, behind Matthew Sambrito’s double-double performance.
Sambrito finished with 14 points and 11 boards while also contributing five assists, three blocks and a steal as his overall performance was enough to rub off on the rest of the squad in winning the Novice C encounter.
In the Neophyte D category, Team DX nipped CKBL, 66-61, with Ralph Caballero leading the way with with 16 points and six rebounds to lead his team to victory.
