Mall raises funds for breast cancer awareness

Filinvest-owned Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa, strengthens its ties with Asian Hospital Charities, Inc., ICanServe Foundation, and Project Pink Support Group to fight against breast cancer.

Festival Mall has been working with these groups for the past four years through the award-winning Pink October campaign. Pink October is a month-long series of events that include forums by doctors and inspirational talks by survivors, wellness sessions, art and calligraphy classes, aiming to spread awareness and encourage early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Early in February, representatives from Asian Hospital Charities, Inc., ICanServe Foundation, and Project Pink Support Group received checks worth P75,266.67 from Festival Mall to aid in their projects in providing Filipinas with free support and treatment against the most common cancer in the Philippines.

ICanServe Foundation will earmark the amount to promote early detection with programs like Ating Dibdibin free screenings and educational forums. Meanwhile, Asian Hospital Charities, the charity arm of Asian Hospital, will use the money to provide the necessary medical treatment for underprivileged breast cancer patients. Project Pink, a cancer support group, will use the donation to further help patients and survivors receive emotional and psychological assistance as they go through their own breast cancer journeys.
