President Rodrigo Duterte has named Department of Interior and Local Government Officer-in-Charge (DILG OIC) Catalino Cuy the new chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
He is taking the post left by Former DDB Head Dionisio Santiago who was previously dismissed by the Chief Executive.
Former Armed Forces Chief of Staff and DILG Undersecretary Eduardo Año will now serve as OIC of the department.
Año was supposed to take the DILG's helm when he retired from the military in October last year.
But the one-year ban against this kind of movement covers the former chief of staff.
DILG Act states retired or resigned AFP chiefs of staff cannot assume a cabinet position for a period of one year following his retirement or resignation.
Año was supposed to exit the AFP earlier but his supervision of the military operations in Marawi City against the Maute terrorists prevented him from doing in 2017.
