From sporting stilettos on the runway to marketing makeup brands or from starring in film and television roles to owning her own company at 19 years old, Philippine showbiz industry’s “ultimate crush” Liza Soberano is proving everyone that she is not your ordinary showbiz star.

The Kapamilya talent, who recently bagged the coveted Darna role in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the Mars Ravelo comics, talked about her attempt to move beyond her original career and develop a serious “wellness empire.”

As though her being one of the most bankable stars wasn't enough, Liza Soberano wanted to add "entrepreneur" to her resume. So, early this month, she launched a wellness center that caters to people of all ages.

The now a certified entrepreneur, has just ventured into the wellness industry with her very own HOPE Hand and Foot Wellness, a relaxation and beauty center that also serves as the springboard of her wellness advocacy. She wanted to focus on wellness as a mindset, a lifestyle and a ritual.

“Wellness is not just something you do now. It’s forever. You can do it whenever you want, wherever you want and when you start practicing wellness rituals you can bring that with you forever and it could possibly make you feel younger even as you aged,” Liza explained.

Her decision to have a wellness center as her first business should not come as a surprise to many because she has always been a great believer in wellness that goes beyond beauty.

“Wellness impacts more than meets the eye. It is all about making us feel better holistically, from head to toe, body to soul,” Liza said.

Liza, whose real name is Hope Elizabeth Soberano, shared her own wellness ritual by using a lot of essential and organic oils to pamper her hands and feet and also to boost her body and spirit.

“I am a great believer that wellness is essential in making us the best version that we can be. We want HOPE Wellness to be the go-to place for everyone and anyone who wants to feel better. HOPE is open to people of all ages, genders and walks of life,” Liza said.

Speaking like a true entrepreneur, Liza quoted economist Paul Zane Pilner who said that the health and wellness industry is predicted to become the next trillion-dollar industry worldwide, underscored by the trend that spas and wellness centers have become a lifestyle for many people around the world.

“By putting up HOPE Hand and Foot Wellness, we do not only encourage people to have their own proper wellness ritual but we are also aggressively taking part in what is described as the business of the future,” Liza noted.

Liza mentioned that as much as her time would allow it, she would want to be very hands-on in managing the operations of her wellness center.

“I made sure that I am actively involved from conceptualization to the actual construction of this place down to the services that we offer,” she added.

Asked if how she plans to balance being an actress and being an entrepreneur since she’s very hands-on in terms of managing her wellness center, the teen actress said, “For now, I am focused on my career of course but as much as possible I do want to be part of this business. I have of course my family to back up the things going on with my life and they are here to help me make the right decisions.”
