PBA row still unresolved

The resolution that the Philippine Basketball Association is aiming for will still have to wait.

There's still no solution in sight in terms of the leadership conflict in the PBA as the members of the board continued to be divided on the direction of the league under commissioner Chito Narvasa.

Team owners were supposed to have an exclusive meeting late Tuesday to once and for all resolve the dispute over Narvasa's tenure. But just like the initial meetings set in Los Angeles several weeks ago, nothing was accomplished.

The cast was incomplete as owners from the five teams (San Miguel, Barangay Ginebra, Star, GlobalPort and Kia), which continue support on the tenure of Narvasa were all no-shows, leaving the seven owners in favor of the commissioner's ousting by themselves.

The league's 43rd season is supposed to start on Dec. 17 but given this continued dilemma, there are still a lot of question marks on the direction and the status of the league at this point.

Until the teams settle their differences in terms of their views on Narvasa's tenure, the league is expected to remain in status quo.
