And it started with hiring some renowned names in PBA history as the Aces look to boost their brain trust.

First, Alaska hired PBA champion coach Eric Altamirano, its longtime team captain and recently retired Toni Dela Cruz and Danny Ildefonso as assistant coaches.

The trio will help head coach Alex Compton in the sidelines for the Aces.

As if that’s not enough, Alaska also tapped legendary import Sean Chamber as its consultant.

Altamirano and Dela Cruz will be taking over the spots left by then assistants Louie Alas and Topex Robinson, who transferred to Phoenix, and join Jeff Cariaso.

Ildefonso was brought in to be a big man coach for the Aces’ frontliners.

Chambers, who led Alaska to multiple championships in the 90s as its resident import, is set to arrive next week to help the team regain its glory days as well.

Meanwhile, Meralco acquired Nico Salva through a trade with Kia.

The Bolts sent their 2018 second-round pick away in exchange.
