Media giant GMA Network, through its regional arm, GMA Regional TV (GMA RTV), further strengthens its presence all over the Philippines by making the top-rating local newscast Balitang Amianan available in more areas in North and Central Luzon since Oct. 23.
GMA RTV’s flagship local news program, which has been consistently lording over competition, is now simultaneously broadcast in key cities and provinces in North and Central Luzon (NCL), specifically in Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Benguet, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Pampanga thru GMA Network’s local channels GMA TV 10 Dagupan, GMA TV 5 Ilocos Norte, GMA TV 48 Ilocos Sur, and GMA TV 7 Abra. It airs from Monday to Friday at 5 p.m.
With the tagline, “Sandigan ng katotohanan. Serbisyong totoo lamang. Solid Amianan,” Balitang Amianan features comprehensive and in-depth delivery of news and information in North Central Luzon. CJ Torida, award-winning local news correspondent Joanne Ponsoy, and news presenter Faye Centeno anchor the newscast. Joining them are local news teams based in Pangasinan and Ilocos, as well as news stringers across North Central Luzon.
GMA Vice President and Head of Regional TV Oliver Amoroso takes pride in this new milestone for Balitang Amianan. “GMA Regional TV continues to deliver relevant, accurate, and impartial local news in key cities and provinces across the Philippines. The heart of all these is our team’s commitment in producing local stories that have positive impact to our communities. With the full support of GMA’s Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon and President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., we are happy and proud of our top-rating local news program. As Balitang Amianan begins a new chapter, I congratulate the men and women of GMA Regional TV in North Central Luzon.”
Ratings data from Nielsen’s MCTAM Dagupan show that Balitang Amianan beat its rival program by two percent during the third quarter of 2017. Further, Balitang Amianan’s average quarterly rating shot to 5.4 percent, marking a remarkable 1.9 percent increase from its second quarter average.
“GMA North Central Luzon has a wide area of coverage. Our local newscast Balitang Amianan has been consistently leading in ratings against competition. To all our Kapuso in NCL, we are truly grateful for your trust and support to our program. Rest assured that we will continue to play an important role in delivering fresh and exclusive stories in the region,” says GMA Dagupan and Ilocos Station Manager Jojo Balingit.
