Lt. Gen. Galileo Gerard Kintanar Jr. is the new head of the Philippine Air Force, replacing Edgar Fallorina who retired on Tuesday.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1985, Kintanar was picked to head the Western Command in Puerto Princesa in August and once served as the Philippine Air Force’s chief of staff. The Western Command is responsible for monitoring the disputed Kalayaan Group of Islands.
Fallorina was presented with a citation and the Philippine Legion of Honor with the degree of Commander.
He is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1983 and a former deputy chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
