This corner will feature pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

For contributions, please email to daycarlos28@yahoo.com and put My Furry Bestie as subject.

PRINCESS ANYA was adopted by Maricel Mondejar from Save Animals of Love and Light (Save ALL) when she was two months old in December, 2013. She was to be put to sleep with her mother and siblings in a pound when Save ALL rescued her together with 33 other dogs and cats.

Today, she is Maricel's 4-year-old bestie.

"I have learned a lot about loving unconditionally fro her. No questions asked, no breed matching, just pure love," Maricel says.

LALA and three other kittens were abandoned in a vacant lot. Jhet Man saw saw them and decided to bring them home. One kitten died while the other two kittens were adopted.

Jhet decided to keep Lala.

She describes her furbaby: "She dominates the household. Ayaw nya ng mushy. Gusto niya, sya lang ang lalapit para maglambing."

Lala also asks for treats when the dogs are given some. Jhet recounts: "She always gives me that mataray look as if she is saying, ‘Hindi pa ba ako kakain?’"

For Jhet, it is ironic but funny that her first rescued cat made Jhet her slave, somehow making her  allow Lala to do some crazy stuff.  But she is so cute, Jhet says, and such a loviable  cat that she can’t say “No” to her.

Lala is also not afraid of dogs, Jhet says, "Nangkukutos pa.”

“She also kneads me always and loves to stay on my chest. She also stays on my shoulder."

JELLYBEAN, 3, is Carlyn Jao's first adopted dog.

Says Carlyn: "Her previous owner cannot take care of her anymore because she was anemic and had a kidney and liver problem. But now she is healthy and will soon be spayed."
