The Sandiganbayan has dismissed the technical malversation case against Senator JV Ejercito.
The anti-graft court ruled that the prosecution failed to prove that Ejercito was involved in an alleged diversion of San Juan City's calamity funds worth P 2.1 million to the purchase of firearms for the local police in 2008.

This was during the time Ejercito was the city mayor.
The Sandiganbayan also reminded the prosecution about its duty to produce the burden of proof when bringing a person to court.
15 other respondents charged along with Ejercito have been acquitted.
The Hold Departure Order (HDO) issued by the court against the lawmaker has also been lifted.
