The Department of Public Works and Highways on Friday said all repairs and maintenance works of roads particularly in Quezon City will be completed before the second State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte will deliver his second Sona on July 24 where he is expected to report to the public his accomplishments for the past year.
“The repair and maintenance works include the asphalt overlaying, repainting of road pavements, road markings and cutting of grass along center islands,” DPWH-National Capital Region Director Melvin Navarro said.
“We still have some areas to complete, but these are minor jobs such as cutting of grass, repainting of pavements,” he said.”We will cut grass along Commonwealth Avenue center island to make it clear and clean.”
Navarro said he had already met with the engineers with regards to the work to be conducted along major thoroughfares although they do not know which route the President’s convoy would take going to the Batasan complex.
The DPWH official said that they do not have the exact route of the President in going to Batasan, but said that the department is committed to make all roads safe to all types of vehicles and pedestrians.
