Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) recently conducted a one-day health screening and information sessions in three public schools in Pateros town, helping some 600 students, teachers and parents. The activity is part of the bank's 'Alay sa kinabukasan: kalusugan para sa estudyante at guro', a sustainability program that provides eye health and care, financial wellness and HIV/AIDS awareness for school children and adults. SCB partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd), Cataract Foundation of the Philippines, Inc (CFPI) and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). For this mission, the bank also linked up with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to conduct financial education in celebration of Global Money Week (Shown in photo). "We strongly believe that community and social development is a shared responsibility," said Mai Sangalang, SCBís country head for branding and corporate affairs. "Standard Chartered contributes through our global programmes supporting health and financial education, and we have been strong in our efforts year on year."
