Operatives of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) are conducting anti-smoke belching operations along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
They are flagging down some Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) for carbon emission tests.
The LTO says, this procedure takes only five minutes.
Fines for motorists whose vehicles will fail the test range from P 2,000 to P 6,000.
Violators will not be allowed to register their vehicles for one year.
