Tradeshow International, the organization behind the longest running car show in the country, recently wrote automotive history with its successful staging of the 26th Edition of the Transport Show.
Held at the sprawling convention hall of the SMX at the SM Mall of Asia, the four-day extravaganza attracted automotive tuners, motorcycle builders and car companies to display and dazzle the guests with their custom-built rides. “From its inception in 1992 as a general automotive show, the Transport Show has evolved into a successful brand, transcending its category as just a car show to becoming part of the Filipino car enthusiast culture. This show has always been the venue of choice for creative self-expression through their automobiles,” explains Sophie delos Santos, president of Tradeshow International, Inc.
Big winners this year were Wheel Gallery, which carted away three major awards for ‘Best 4×4 Resto Mod” for a 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40; “Best Recreational SUV for a red 2011 Jeep Rubicon and second place for the “European Hatch” category with a customized 2006 Mini Cooper. Renowned tuner Spoon Sports from Japan debuted at the show with no less than Tatsuro Ichishima, Founder of Spoon entertaining questions from local fans. One of the most visited booths of the show was the Motul Ph corporate display which had a modified Lotus Exige V6 Cup car taking center stage. Volkswagen Ph showcased their eye candy Beetle, while BMW Motorrad and KTM taking the lead in bringing in excitement and passion at the motorcycle display area. This year’s best of show was a 1995 Toyota Corolla built by Vonetix Radical Creations. Another company which had a strong presence at the Transport Show was Sonax Ph, which polished, detailed and took care of the majority of show cars luster on display all throughout the four-day extravaganza.
