Operations jointly conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Sulu have resulted in the killing of a crime suspect, the wounding of another and the seizure of about 30 high-powered firearms.
The information was relayed by PNP-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Director Reuben Sindac.
The operation covered two separate communities in Barangay Omar in Sulu.
Law enforcers were on a mission to serve warrants of arrest against four persons who are facing charges of murder, arson and illegal drug trade.
Among the weapons confiscated by the authorities were AK-47 and M16 assault rifles and 60 mm mortars.
They also discovered three sachets of shabu.
The men who were subjects of the arrest warrants were able to escape.
