CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—The Police Regional Office 4A in Calabarzon has launched its public safety campaign for the Lenten season and the summer holidays, dubbed “Ligtas SUMVAC 2017.”
PRO4A Regional Director Chief Supt. Ma. O Aplasca has directed all city and provincial police directors in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon to ensure the safe and secure travel of motorists and commuters this coming season.
“The Philippine National Police remains on its toes to implement this public safety campaign for the Lent and the entire summer holiday season,” Aplasca said.
Police presence will be intensified through increased foot and mobile patrols and established Police Assistance Desks, he added. Also, road safety marshals will be deployed in convergence points particularly in bus terminals, seaports, tourist spots, churches and recreational areas, including highways, main thoroughfares, and crime-prone areas to ensure maximum police presence.
Aplasca instructed all police commanders to coordinate with local government units, non-government organizations, and other government entities and volunteer groups in establishing PACs and deploying Road Safety Marshalls “for a collaborative and unified delivery of public safety services and assistance.”
Aplasca added that criminals may take advantage of people converging in as beaches and other tourist destinations for relaxation and recreation.
“I am calling for the cooperation of the public to prevent any crime in the community by providing authorities relevant and timely information,” he said.
