Local music newest muse, Angelina Cruz, has just released a debut single that coincided with the announcement that she is now part of Universal Records roster of recording artists.
Her debut single is a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and is now available for digital download.
Following her being signed by Universal Records, the 15-year-old singer took to Instagram to express her excitement.
“This makes me over the top happy and absolutely grateful that something this unimaginable can be possible. All this couldn’t be done without @universalrecordsph and you guys, Thank you!!” she wrote her Instagram post.
Angelina is the eldest daughter of Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano. According to her mother, they decided to use Cruz as her stage name because most of their relatives in showbiz who ventured into music are using Cruz instead of their real family name.
“She’s starting out as a singer. Even Donna is not a Cruz before. When she started she was an Yrastorza. Even Rayver and Rodjun, they are Ilustre(s), but they are using Cruz because Cruzes are known as musicians. So I think it would be an advantage to use Cruz,” Sunshine explained.
