Manila North Tollways Corp. pushed back the completion date of an elevated highway linking Mac Arthur Highway in Valenzuela City and C3 Road in Caloocan City because of right-of-way issues.
“By end of the year [we expect to complete the Segment 10 of NLEx], but subject to the delivery of the right-of-way. Our previous target was middle of 2017. We are moving that to end of the year,” MNTC president and chief executive Rodrigo Franco told reporters.
He said the government committed to deliver the remaining 35 percent of the right-of-way in the second quarter.
NLEx Segment 10 is a 5.6-kilometer elevated highway in northwest Metro Manila linking Mac Arthur Highway in Valenzuela City and C3 Road in Caloocan City. Daily traffic for Segment 10 is projected to average 30,000 vehicles.
The company targets to start commercial operation by January 2018. MNTC is also building additional toll lanes in three major toll plazas at North Luzon Expressway.
