Calabarzon cops add 743 recruits

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—The Police Regional Office in Calabarzon recently swore in 743 new recruits, including 200 women, that passed its stringent recruitment process.

The new recruits are all under the 2nd Cycle PO1 Recruitment Program for the calendar year 2016, and they went through the tedious selection process that included drug tests, physical examinations, and a neuro-psychiatric examination.

Calabarzon Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Valfrie Tabian told the recruits that now they are police officers, “they should have the determination to serve and protect the country.”

Tabian also challenged the recruits to not be influenced by illegal activities and end up as police scalawags.

“Learn the values and traditions of the service as you will undergo your training. You should be competent, motivated, values-oriented and disciplined police officers. Do not waste this chance given to you,” he added.

The recruits were turned over to the National Police Training Institute to start their six-month Public Safety Basic Recruits Course.
