Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Martin Delga announces the approval of a one-peso provisional increase in jeepney fare.
This means that minimum fare hike will return to P 8 from the current P 7.

The fare hike is in response to the petition filed by transport group ACTO last year.
The adjustment will take effect on February 8 or on Wednesday.
It will cover Metro Manila, Region 3 and 4.
Delgra cites the rising diesel prices and cost of living as reasons for the granting the request.
