POLICE are in hot pursuit of an officer of the National Bureau of Investigation alleged to have shot dead Wednesday a fellow officer during an altercation that started inside and ended bloody outside a cockpit arena in Capas, Tarlac, police said.
Supt. Fe Grenas, public information officer of the Central Luzon Police, identified the suspect as Boy de Castro, intelligence officer of NBI-Manila.
She said De Castro’s last known address was at Green Village in Concepcion, Tarlac.
The victim was identified as Lavernie Vitug, 53, security officer of NBI-Tarlac and a resident of San Sebastian, Tarlac City.
“An eyewitness saw de Castro and Vitug had a heated argument inside Triple 888 Cockpit Coliseum, after the former confronted Vitug for betting while wearing an NBI uniform,” Grenas, citing the witness’account, said.
