Malacanang has approved an additional increase of P 1,000 monthly to pensioners of the Social Security System (SSS).
This will be implemented in May this year.

SSS Chairman Amado Valdez made the announcement in a briefing at the Palace.
Valdez also announced that there will be an increase of 1.5% to the contributions of SSS members.
This means, the current 11% contributions of SSS members will go up to 12.5%.
This will take effect also in May this year.
