Thirty nine drug surrenderers have successfully completed a one-month out-patient rehabilitation program in the province of Oriental Mindoro.
“Initially, this is a success because all of the 39 enrollees were tested negative for illegal drugs during a recent drug test conducted by health officials,” said Health regional director Eduardo Janairo.
He said they will continue to monitor and assess the former drug users even after they graduated from the rehabilitation program to prevent them from having a relapse.
For a month, the patients were provided with behavioral counseling, medication, evaluation and treatment for occurring mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, yoga exercises and detoxification with the use of Ayurveda.
