JUSTICE Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II on Wednesday downplayed the reported gunshot on his close-in security’s vehicle last Tuesday.
This came after the National Bureau of Investigation learned that the bullet that hit the private vehicle of Aguirre’s aide Senior Inspector Recaredo Marasigan was a stray bullet.
“Based on ballistic test, the bullet had no direct impact so it appeared to be unintentional,” Aguirre said, adding that Marasigan was aboard his personal vehicle at 5:30 a.m. last Tuesday on his way to the house of Aguirre when the incident occurred.
“As I was about to turn left from Sucat Road to BF Homes to report for duty to [the secretary of justice]. I felt something hit the back part of my Hyundai Eon. Upon arrival at the house of SoJ, I inspected my car and saw a hole at the left tail light part of my car. When I inspected further, I saw a slug inside the hole,” Marasigan said, in a statement.
