The Department of Justice (DOJ) suggests New Bilibid Prison (NBP) convict Jaybee Sebastian can just submit an affidavit to government prosecutors so he can reveal his supposed knowledge on the drug operations inside the prison complex.
This comes, after President Rodrigo Duterte rejected any meeting with Sebastian.
Duterte had said, “I do not talk with criminals. He can go to the fiscal if he wants.”
The President was reacting to Sebastian’s lawyer Edgar Arriba’s statement that his client is willing to confess what he knows, but only in a conversation with the Chief Executive.
The DOJ notes, it is not forcing Sebastian to file an affidavit, rather it is just among the options he can take.
Convicted kidnapper Sebastian is reportedly running the narcotics operations inside the national penitentiary and there are claims, he is the high-profile inmate who can supposedly link Senator Leila de Lima to illegal drug trade.
