Soil study best research paper

BALANGA CITY—The Effective Microorganism-Based Organic Solanaceous Crop Production in Orani, Bataan was adjudged the Best Paper (Development Category) in the 11th Bataan Peninsula State University Research and Development In House Review.

BPSU officer in charge-vice president for research, development and extension services, Dr. Hermogenes Paguia, explained that effective microorganisms are soil enriching agents.

Dr. Rina Paguia was the project leader and Mirasol Rosana was a research member for the paper. Dr. Arturo Alegado and Engr. Morrimer Daag did partial budget analysis and defining new technologies.

The paper bested other BPSU research projects: Application of Coral Transplantation Technology to Improve Productivity of Coral Reef Resources for Responsible and Sustainable Fisheries/Harness Potentials of Subic Bay for Underwater Tourism; Community  Participatory Action Research (CPAR) Integrated Rice-based cum Sweet Potato and Slaughter Goat Production in Bataan; and Science and Technology Model Farm on Mango Production in Pampanga.

The evaluators during the recent in house review held at BPSU Abucay Campus were educators from Central Luzon State University-CLAARRDEC Dr. Mario Agustin, Research Office; Dr. Romeo Gavino, professor, College of Engineering; and Nestor Pagaduan, instructor, Research Office. 

On the other hand, the university research project Development of Automatic Fish Feeder using Microcontroller and GSM technology was Best Paper in the Research Category.   

The BPSU OIC-VP said the university, in consonance with the direction of its president Dr. Greg Rodis, has a dynamic research and development office. BPSU is considered the agricultural research center of Bataan.
