It’s a holiday in Nueva Ecija on Friday and the provincial government is giving Novo Ecijanos a grand treat—an unlimited lure for Pokemon Go.
Dubbed as the very first Pokemon Go Grand Lure Party, the event comes with free lures, charging stations, live band performances, games and raffles to celebrate the 120th anniversary celebration of Unang Sigaw ng Nueva Ecija at 5 p.m. at the Benigno Aquino Freedom Park in this city.
The event will be conducted in cooperation with the office of the governor and the Provincial Youth and Development Council (PYDC) and is sponsored by a telecommunication company.
News of the event delighted some netizens.
“Nice event but please add police visibility in the area to ensure the safety of the players if possible everyday,” said Marius Castillo anticipating a huge attendance of Pokemon Go-crazed trainers.
September 2 was declared an official holiday in Nueva Ecija through Republic Act 7596.
Nueva Ecija was one of eight provinces that revolted against Spanish rule in 1896, earning a ray of the sun in the Philippine flag.
Besides the Pokemon Grand Lure Party, other activities include the coronation of Binibining Nueva Ecija, recognition of outstanding youth and an agriculture summit at the Nueva Ecija Convention Center in Palayan City.
