THE Indonesians who were arrested for carrying Philippine hajj passports are set to be deported soon, Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose said, adding that custody of the 117 Indonesians have already been turned over to the Indonesian Embassy.

“The custody has been turned over the Indonesian Embassy while they continue to be processed by Bureau of Immigration for eventual deportation,” Jose said, assuring that the Philippines will continue to investigate and determine who are the officials who issued these hajj passports.

The Indonesians who were bound for Medina, Saudi Arabia, on Friday were stopped by immigration authorities at the Naia when it was discovered that they could not speak the Filipino language.
