Joining him in the trip are representatives from Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Public Attorneys Office (PAO) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

There are about 9,000 stranded OFWs in different camp sites mainly in Jeddah.

Some of them are unable to get their exit clearances and others are still waiting to get their last pay from employers.

The workers lost their jobs after the price of crude oil plunged.

Some of the stranded Filipinos still hope they can find other jobs in Saudi Arabia.
