Divorce bill filed anew in Congress

Party-list group Gabriela has filed a bill seeking to legalize divorce in the Philippines.

This is the second time a measure for this purpose is being filled in the 17^th Congress.

The first version was filed by Albay Representative Edcel Lagman.

Gabriela Women’s Party Representatives Emmi de Jesus and Arlene Brosa say, the enactment of a divorce bill is long overdue.

Overall, this is the fifth time a divorce bill is filed in the House of Representatives.
