Permanent Court of Arbitration’s verdict on West PH Sea expected Tuesday afternoon

The Permanent Court of Arbitration’s decision on the arbitration case filed by the Philippine Government against China’s territorial claims in the West Philippine Sea is expected to be released at 5 pm on Tuesday.

The ruling from international court based in The Hague on the case filed by the Philippine government in 2013 will be sent by email to the office of Solicitor General Jose Calida.

It will also be posted on the court's website.

In a press briefing at noon, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella says President Duterte will await the decision in Malacañang.

He also said the Philippine government’s response to the ruling will be issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Groups backing Philippines’ case against China are holding a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in Makati City.
