But in truth, sportswear is tricky to pull off. Too much of it in the wrong places could make you look more lazy than trendy. The easiest way to “sportify” your look is by wearing sporty shoes. Hence the birth of Sports Luxe trend in footwear, first set by the likes of Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang. It features thick-soled sneakers, structured platforms and “mandals.”
Local footwear brand for “women who love fashion and shoes,” Primadonna catches up on this trend as it recently launched its Sports Luxe collection for the pre-holiday 2015 season.
The latest collection is composed of 25 styles, 12 of which are already available in 62 Primadonna stores nationwide. It features sneakers in neutral and candy colors, chunky platform shoes in black and white, slip-ons with pop prints and “man repeller” slides as seen on some of the most stylish people here and abroad.
“The brand has been providing ladies of all ages with footwear that is up-to-date with the latest international designs, while making it more accessible to the local market,” says Primadona managing director Denise Reyes.
Reyes notes that this new collection targets college and young professionals. Although the latest releases and the brand’s new ambassador Kathryn Bernardo appeal to the younger market, Primadonna officials say Sports Luxe can be worn even by the older crowd.
“Even if you’re forty-something, if you’re fashionable and you love to dress up, you can pull this off,” enthuses Primadona marketing director Val Tanchip-Lim. “It depends on your personality and fashion sense.”
Primadonna further makes it easier to jump on the sports luxe trend as prices of the latest products range from P1,299 to P2,999.
Primadonna is located at SM, Robinsons and Ayala Malls nationwide.
