Rain showers did not dampen the excitement on the forty-two official delegates of Miss Philippines-Earth 2019 as they were presented to the press at the poolside of Diamond Hotel Manila, Roxas Boulevard on Monday.
The beauty delegates come from the different regions of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the Filipino communities in Australia, Canada, Italy, and Germany.
The 19th edition of Miss Earth Philippines 2019 honors the flowers of the nation this year in tribute to the beauty and preservation it gives to the environment.
“It’s time to give awareness and recognition to the many species of Flora in the Philippines through our environmental ambassadors who embody the flowers’ beauty and power of healing the environment,” the Miss Earth Philippines organization said in a message.
Miss Philippines Earth 2019 environmental events kicked off with participation at the coastal clean-up held in Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat (LPPCHEA). It has partnered with UAP Manila Archizonian Chapter for environmental activities and charity works in Camarines Sur from June 15 to 17.
In the Talent Competition held at House Manila Pasay, the Top 3 in the Dancing Category were the delegates from Fil-Barcelona, Spain, General Santos City, and Midsayap, North Cotabato, while the Top 3 in Creative Category were Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, Carmona, Cavite, and Caloocan City.
The Swimsuit competition will be held on July 3 to 6 in El Nido, Palawan.
Reigning Miss Earth Philippines 2018 Silvia Celeste Cortesi will turn over her title during the Grand Coronation to be held at the Cove Manila in Okada Manila on July 10, to be telecast on July 14 on ABS-CBN’s Sunday’s Best.
The winner will represent the country at 2019 Miss Earth pageant later in the year.
