In time for his awaited return to television with the series Pamilya Sagrado, Piolo Pascual graces the latest digital cover of Metro. The exclusive feature, titled Pamilya Sagrado Star Piolo Pascual Is Living Life in the Fast Lane, encapsulates the actor-producer’s insights into his upcoming role and other milestones he has celebrated of late.

Describing Pamilya Sagrado as a reflection of societal issues rather than a political statement, Pascual expressed his enthusiasm for portraying the complex character of Rafael Sagrado, an ambitious governor.

“It’s a mirror of society. We are not being political, but more sociological. We want to tell the story of how we are,” he said.

Notably, he embraced the authenticity of his role by allowing his natural graying hair to remain, a decision he found liberating.

“I let my character flow from what the director tells me, what the writer tells me. I thought, ah, I will let my grays show, which made me so happy. It was liberating, I didn’t have to go to a salon and get my hair dyed,” he graciously shared. “But one change I made was that I wanted to make my character more dark. So when he changes, it’s more seen.”

Beyond his return to the small screen and recent accolades such as his FAMAS award, Pascual divulged his ventures outside of entertainment. He talked about his new resort business in Palawan and his other activities and passion, giving the readers a glimpse of his multifaceted persona beyond acting.

Meanwhile, touted as this year’s biggest family drama, Pamilya Sagrado sees Pascual alongside today’s emerging leading men Kyle Echarri and Grae Fernandez.

The series tackles the dark truth behind brotherhood, politics, and reputation – as influential governor Rafael (Pascual) tries to protect the reputable image of the Sagrado clan and their hopes of someday running the country. Along with this premise, the series also tackles the forged bond between two students, Moises and Justine (Echarri and Fernandez), who come from different walks of life but share the same blood as fraternity brothers.

But the story takes a different course when the fraternity led by Rafael’s son Justine is in hot water following a hazing incident that cost the life of a neophyte — believing that it would tarnish the Sagrado name and going deeper lengths to preserve their reputation, even if resorting to evil ways. Along with the family dilemma, Moises then uncovers secrets that would expose the Sagrados’ darkest secrets, also connecting to his family’s lives.

Pamilya Sagrado airs on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, and TFC. The series also streams 48 hours before its TV broadcast on iWantTFC.
