The American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) recognizes individuals who have achieved exceptional service by engaging with guests, creating memorable experiences, and enhancing the minds of students in the hospitality field.

Founded in 1953, the AHLEI assists hospitality students and professionals with education and training to meet the needs of the industry through a variety of hospitality solutions, through resources for high schools, colleges, and workforce agencies, online learning, and certifications.

The Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP), one of the certification programs, has recently been awarded to 28 faculty and staff of the Benilde Retreat & Conference Complex (BRCC), Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle, and The School for Hotel, Restaurant and Institute Management (SHRIM) of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), in a pinning ceremony at the school’s Salle de Auvergne.

Recognized worldwide, the designation is the highest acknowledgment of awarding-winning guest service for educators and employees in the lodging industry.

Dean Angelo Lacson of SHRIM said the recognition adds to other industry qualifications that Benilde associates regularly receive. These include the Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) certificate.
