They may be powerful onstage and as closely-knit as sisters, but the sweet and sassy BFF5 girls—Andrea Brillantes, Kira Balinger, Loisa Andalio, Maris Racal, and Ylona Garcia—have different personalities, tastes, and style, which they divulge in their book Sugar & Spice (ABS-CBN Publishing).

Readers will be inspired with how today’s It Girls have overcome their insecurities and have strived for their dreams in the photobook that also uncovers great fashion steals and the must-read 25 things to know about each member.

She may be self-assured and cool today, but “Swag Queen” Andrea lacked confidence in her earlier years. She then pushed to believe in herself and now aspires to become a director one day. In the book, she gushes about her love for K-dramas, K-pop, and chocolate.

Born in Hong Kong to an English dad and a Filipino mom, “Little Miss Sunshine Kira” reveals that she has dreamed of becoming a model since she was little. She believes beauty is still having a warm and tender heart in a cold, cold world.  Kira is ready to step out of her comfort zone to fulfill her dream of becoming an international model one day.

“Girl on Fire” Loisa talks about her dreams and insecurities. She shares about how questioned herself on everything at first until she realized that it was herself who needed to decide her own happiness. She also reveals about getting into fistfights when she was younger, and describes her ideal man.

From a simple probinsyana from Davao, “Miss Independent” Maris has come a long way. “If you stop trying, you start losing,” she says. She also shares the story behind her name, her self-written songs, and her way of living as an “old soul.” She also talks about online bashing indicating, “comparison hurts me, but at the same time those keep me going. They want me to improve myself. I want to keep excelling.”

Sydney-born Ylona shares her perspective—“expect the unexpected.” “Lady Danger” is indeed into life and its thrills, as she loves to watch horror movies alone. She detoxifies herself from her Instagram once a month, and plays the piano, guitar, and flute.
